Today was the day of the people, but it started off a little late as a freeze hit last night and all my gear was pure ice! I had extra time and I was cold so I decided to open the letter that a family left in my boat many miles ago. It was the most spot on, WARMING letter ever! The river gods find a way to save ya every time!
Once I warmed up and got on the water I met my first group of kayakers on the water. Paddlebridge.com was out on the water doing an island hopping trip. Great group of guides and super friendly.
A river angel showed up in his mini jet boat Shannon Tatro to check on me as I paddled down river. As a racer, I was totally checking out his boat at the dock 20 minutes earlier. He was great!
River Angel Katie Voss who I saw in a restaurant last week showed up to help me with the portage and gave me some great snacks for the river tomorrow.
The ice cream stand owner was a super funny guy. He said it was ok to take the slide down to the water when I was done with my ice cream.
Easy day of paddling ending on an island with a great view of the water. I feel like Tom Sawyer for the night!

This is awesome! Looks like you were having great weather when we FaceTime you. You’re missing the miserably cold rainy weather here in Austin!
