The waters came up today to the fastest paddle speeds of  the entire river, which was fantastic allowing for a solid 85 mile day. Even though it was a holiday(Monday), that really didn’t hurt my feelings as the boat traffic was at a minimum for the commercial boats and the private boats have completely gone away in this section of the river. A river Angel named Bob has been tracking me and showed up at my campsite for the night with a bottle of coconut water & helped me get my camp set up which was much appreciated. It was fun catching up with him as he is a longtime Paddler and has done many long distance expeditions. My shoulders are starting to bother me more and more so it’s probably a good time to take a day off pretty soon.  I’ll do my best to find a place to make that happen, but I think my small town hotel opportunities are getting further and further apart as the river becomes more and more commercial. I have been spending the first couple miles, just floating and allowing my shoulders just to stretch out casually before I actually really start paddling as an attempt to warm them up so let’s hope tomorrow  is an easy day of paddling and another safe adventure.  Not much to say about today besides I feel lucky to be able to take on this adventure.
